We had to go down to the bank very early today. An actual 'inside' visit to talk to someone. She fixed the problem in 2 minutes. We had already spent 2 days trying to fix it over the phone. This new tech is sometimes head spinning. We needed real people who just don't explain but sort it all out and send you off home with all the details on a piece of paper.
When we came out we were serenaded by a saxophonist playing from the back of his catamaran and the girls from the boat next door dancing salsa to the music.
Following Rachel's instruction I got a 'just before' photo. Just before he swung around and faced us all.
And a 'just after' pic.
I swung round to get the girls dancing just as they stopped.
So missed out on two 'spot on' photos
We listened enchanted for a few minutes until he broke into Xmas carols. And then went inside for his breakfast
"Tiz the season to be jolly".
ReplyDeleteMaybe not in April?
Don't know why he suddenly turned to Xmas. He was a good player must have had a large repertoire
DeleteFree entertainment. Sunshine too.
ReplyDeleteOur bank branches over here are gradually closing down, forcing everyone to go online. Sometimes though, as you say, we need a real person who can fix things for us quickly.
You need an appointment before they'll deal with you at the bank. This girl was a whizz. She fixed our problem while fixing someone else's over the phone. Easy for the likes of her, not for us foggys
DeleteHow good that when leaving the bank you have the sea and music and joy of life.
ReplyDeleteA very nice beginning to a lovely sunny day! And our banking fixed!
DeleteThere is something about saxophone music (especially from a boat). It is a very mellow sound. Someone used to play sax at night occasionally in our marina in London. The marina is surrounded by multi-storey apartments (yes it was like living in a goldfish bowl). The music would bring people silently out onto their balconies and you would only realize how many were listening by the applause when the music (we assume he) stopped.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a bouzouki player at a hotel who used to play out on his balcony. Everyone came out to listen. Magical
DeleteThe catamaran is quite intriguing and the shadow in the foreground. Nice to have a saxophonist playing at that time of the morning and some girls having fun. Sounds like a laugh was being had by all except the child looks a bit indifferent to it, probably heard it all before!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't noticed the shadow. Takes an artist to notice the details. Everyone on the quay, and outside the bank was delighted
DeleteBanks are the same here. So many have closed down and you are expected to do everything online or make an appointment to see someone. My Kiwibank now only has a couple of bookshop outlets and one bank (where you can see people if you book in advance - and then they will try and deal with it on the phone instead of seeing you!)..
ReplyDeleteThank goodness they let us see them the same day. K was starting to yell. They were very patient over the phone but it's so darn complicated. Press this, enter that. And you can't find on your screen what on earth they're talking about
DeleteTechnology is fantastic. When it works. Unfortunately once it goes south it kinda stays south Unless your 12 years old and know how to fix it
ReplyDeleteDon’t know about Christmas carols this time of year. He must be a tad confused
We used to get the grandkids to fix the problems but they've grown up darn it and are very hard to get hold of
