Photos of rainbows over the island yesterday after a few hours of short sharp showers with intervals of sunshine.
Instagram and Facebook filled up with photos taken by locals.
The colours were extraordinarily bright and sharp.
Here are some taken by daughters and granddaughter.
There is something about a rainbow that captures the imagination.
ReplyDeleteMy friend says that every time she sees one, she feels that it is her youngest daughter (who died aged 7) saying hello.
Oh that's a nice way to remember someone. These were so clear!
DeleteOh I love a double rainbow. When I see one, rarely, I go wild about it.
ReplyDeleteThese were so clear and bright you almost felt you could touch them
DeleteWe drove through two 🌈 a few years ago. We didn't find any pots of gold left by the Leprechauns though.
ReplyDeleteOne of them seemed so close I almost felt we could find that pot of gold. Those leprechauns have their gold well hidden.
DeleteI love rainbows and those look spectacular :)
ReplyDeleteThey were so close and vibrant
DeleteI do love rainbows. They really do make you happy and promise that better times will come
ReplyDeleteToday is beautiful, warm and sunny. Summers on its way
DeleteThey would have been fantastic to see. Such perfect arcs across the sky.
ReplyDeleteIt's the first time I've ever seen them so clearly. Lovely
DeleteIt always fascinates me that the sky is lighter in colour beneath the rainbow than above. Someone did once explain why, but I've forgotten.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen these different colours with a rainbow
DeleteTwo for the price of one! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular rainbows, and doubles with that! Poros must be flooded with pots of gold. We could do with the rainbow promise here (no more flooding) as we are getting a bit fed up with being rained on.
