Small Steps to Xmas

It's getting closer .... and closer

A Christmas 'Welcome' mat

The traditional Greek kaïki is lit up at night. It's on a timer, thanks to traditional husband who knows all about electrics

Here he is lighting up our second boat

We decorate a Xmas tree and these boats

And here it is lighting up our window

First mince pies just out of the oven

  1. Love those boats.
.Our first step to Christmas is when my little Elfie arrives. He's late this year due to all the strikes.

    1. Love your Elfie. He's got a few cousins here but they're still in hibernation

  4. We have one tree in the lounge room. Still in its box. That’s a step closer right?
Just don’t have the energy this year. Your little boats look lovely

    1. You're late this year methinks. All that darn rain has dampened your spirit 😁

Love the Christmas welcome mat at your door.

    1. I haven't had a mince pie yet but the other tasters gave them a thumbs up. I'm trying to be good till Xmas day. Wonder if that's possible

  8. I’m hoping the hat looks much larger than it is or…that’s a bloody big elf’s head.
Seriously though, I’m lagging behind in the decorating stakes. Someone has ‘the dreaded lurgy ’ and life if revolving around him at the moment. He was pretty crook and had me wondering about calling paramedics in. Thankfully much better today - maybe I’ll think about sparkly things next week.

    1. Sorry to hear you have a patient in the house. Hope he gets well quickly. I can understand why sparkly things are the last item on your list just now

    2. Ps the elf hat hangs way down the back so there's lots of 'long and thin'. Or there will be when I finish it . It's folded in half so it's a bit wider than it looks

  9. My wife bought a small Christmas tree 'Santa' yesterday, which is now hanging from the Grandfather clock key. Far too early.

    1. I wish we could get a smaller tree, maybe not as small as that though. I used to think the week before Christmas was early enough but even here preparations are already underway. Looks like this 'post-lurgy', hopefully 'post', yuletide is going to be big

    2. Careless reading! Xmas tree SANTA not a Xmas tree. We have a wee Santa which sings some darn carol when you push it's button. Boy does that annoy after 2 minutes

  10. Every year I envy the people of Blogland for their preparations for Christmas. It's such a beautiful holiday.
