This and That

Now and again the sea rises and gushes through flood channels onto the road.  There is no tide here to cause  a surge of sea water and it isn't excessive rainfall, causing the sea level to rise.

The sea water forms a lake  for almost a kilometre along the harbour

All that salt water can do damage to your car but these kids are having loads of fun

Ladies who lunch
I'm front left
At the end of summer, as days cooled down, I suddenly became a social butterfly, Poros style.
As well as going to the cinema three times in one month/year/summer I also got to wine and dine with English friends .
We coffee-ed and lunched, chatted in a language I savvy and didn't have to interpret. My glass ran-eth over.

Grandson, who lives in the city, taking their kitten, Diego for a walk. Coffee and catnip?

  1. Such glamorous ladies lunching there. But the others seem to be wearing fewer outer garments than you!

    1. Two of those women were complaining of the heat but I remember being quite comfortable in my heavier dress. It was that time of the year when temperatures go down but it's not quite winter

  2. Cats get high on Catnip. Our Domino loves my Nepeta plants.

    1. I've never seen catnip but a friend of mine, a lady who lunches, has cat toys stuffed with it. Very popular toys

  3. It’s lovely you can finally enjoy being outside without cooking. And to speak in your mother tung. Love the cat carrier. I’ve planted cat nip in the garden and my cat loves to sleep next to it. I’m a drug dealer lol

    1. I love those lazy afternoons, taverna food and good company. Or just coffee outside beside the sea. So nice

  4. Love the new header picture. Very high air pressure in another part of the Med and low air pressure over you is what causes that sea level thing. It happens in the Baltic too. You lucky social butterfly. I've not missed the Greek social culture in UK as much as I do here in Singapore. It is really coming home now the realization of what we were so lucky to enjoy for 4 years. Mr T might have enjoyed such a backpack but was too big for any we could find like that. I hope Diego grows into an adventurer.

What a lovely way to spend your time, dining and chatting with like-minded ladies.
Your grandson is a cutie, and has a big heart .

    1. It was more than time to change the header, and the wording. A taste of Greece.

  6. I imagine that if a HUGE amount of water comes in between Spain and Gibraltar, then the whole Med' would rise. Very odd. I do like your new Header Flag.

    1. I shall read up on air pressure and sea levels in the Baltics. Strange indeed.
The header is much more appropriate

  7. Was the sun rising or setting in the header photo. Lucky ‘whoever’ to have that view from their home
Good to see you out and about. I’m missing my lunches with lady friends- we ‘lost’ another a few weeks ago and mobility is a problem for some of the others.

    1. The sun was going down. That's the sunset that my daughter sees from the rooftop terrace of her house. Not bad! We always take visitors up there

    1. They really love that kitten. Grandson is a man's man. Didn't think I'd see him taking the cat for a stroll lol

  9. Oh yay, for getting out with friends! But that cat "back pack" (front pack?)!! I wonder how either of mine would deal with being put into something like that! -Jenn

    1. Apparently the kitten loved it. I think 'kitten' is the clue. It's only a few months old. He was probably itching to get out and explore though
