Rain

A moody Monday. Overcast and noticeably quieter. Schools open next Monday and visitors are disappearing fast.

A film is being shot on Poros.
It's called Kyuka. In Japanese it means 'holidays'.  Not sure where the Japanese fits in.  It's a  film about 3 family members, father and two children who come to Poros on a yacht.
All locals who want to take part can/could register.  I didn't

We were down in the harbour for shopping very early this morning and found a legal parking.  But really, why bother.  You only get blocked by some idiot and can't get out.
We waited 10 minutes for this guy to turn up and I waited for an explosion from K and an
open palm gesture

A real insult and usually accompanied by some very salty words

But instead this guy got a smile and some friendly banter.  A friend of K.  He got off with not even a slap on the wrist.  And then waited till we backed out and took our park so he could go off and have a drink with his friends.

GRRRRRR says the grumpy bear

It was quite cool this morning and while we were having coffee it started to rain.  Hurrah.

But it was only a 10 minute, quite heavy, shower

Still it has cooled us down and given us a glimpse of autumn

    1. Hope your summers not completely over. I bet the sun will stick around here till the end of the month

  3. Interesting to read that an open palm gesture is an insult, as here it is often seen used by someone who is apologising for their bad driving!

    1. A nice friendly wave is ok. This open palm insult is usually thrust at you with force and a feeling of malice. A loud 'NAAA!' is the mildest of what you might hear

  4. Oh I know the open hand. I use it often myself lol although most people here don’t know what it means so I’m ok

    1. Even better if they don't know. But you do lol. You can put a lot of bad feeling into that gesture. It always makes me feel a little better. Frustration shown!

  5. I thought the slap to the forehead was an insult? Better watch out for the open hand!! Lovely to see you getting rain.

    1. If anyone dark and foreign gives you the open palm then spit on yourself 3 times and turn yourself around to get rid of the nastiness lol

  6. Strange how quickly it seems to change aye? Both the weather and the mood. Monday evening produced first time the sea water was warmer than the air above it. Nice swimming and refreshing to get out instead of instantly breaking out in a sweat again.

    1. Yes, I wasn't expecting lower temperatures till the end of September. This weather is wonderful. 2 more months of peace on the island and warm sunshine

  7. A few bangs and flashes here last night and Sunday night, but no proper rain. They predict light rain for this week, but we'll see.

    1. It was overcast most of the day and we were expecting a little more rain. I think they had it in the neck elsewhere. The little we got was good though not for the grapes. Vaso was ready to pick yesterday and now she will have to wait three days till the vines dry out

  8. There are many hand gestures that can and are made :-). The wave in to the line of traffic, the “what the heck are you doing” which usually means I touch my head and wave my hand around, the usual insults. But I’ve never heard of the open hand gesture! I’ll keep an eye out for that one, haha
