Very high winds yesterday and a little rain. Barmy temperatures up to 20o . The winds are southerlys bringing warmer weather and dust clouds from the Sahara.
Pumping out after last night's squalls
Then down to the waterfront for a furtive money and merchandise exchange. Drug of choice, 5 kilos (litres) of white wine from the vineyards around Korinth
Winds were whipping the sea, covering cars in spray and rocking small boats tied to the jetty
Not often we see the bay covered in white horses (sheep if you're greek)
Back at the fishing boat marina the sea had become extremely choppy so we had a second stop to look at ropes and anchors and discuss weather conditions
Meanwhile back up in the hills we were protected from the southerlys. The leaves on the olive trees hardly moved and resident fowl roamed contentedly amongst the green clover
It all looks, and sounds, delightful. I rather like an angry sea; especially if it's 20 C.
ReplyDeleteCertainly a change from endless days of flat sparkling seas. The sun came out today. Would have been nice to sit in the sun and sip coffee. Too much running around today
Delete20 deg celsius is quite warm unless you have a very nippy windchill, in that case I can understand the need for warm jackets and hats.
ReplyDeleteThe sun has come out today. Yesterday I wore a jacket, today I'm in short sleeves. Remind myself of kiwis who wear shorts and jandals all year round , just add a jacket on top!
DeleteAngry sea,as Cro said looks amazing. We also have here a very hot week,24c and more.
ReplyDeleteYou have got warm weather. 20o and sunshine here today. No wind. Lovely
DeleteYes the joys and woes of living next to the sea. Nowhere nicer on a sunny day and nowhere worse to be in a storm. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteSEa spray! My parents and later my brother lived just yards from the beach, Their silver went black, cars only lasted 5 years. The salt ate into everything, My father had special shelters for his vegetable garden.
DeleteLove really stormy seas. Don't see those pacific rollers over here
As long as I’m inside with the fire roaring. I’d love to watch the sea during a storm.
ReplyDeleteRight now it’s very warm here. So I’m inside with the air con on
