Cabbage and Rice

The Alkyonides (halcyon) days are over.  It's snowing in the northern suburbs of Athens and those clouds over the hills in that photo are dumping snow on the peaks.  Those are the peaks of the mountains opposite Poros.  It's damn cold today.

We are eating cabbage and rice today.  I've written about this recipe before.  Cabbage and a leek, a carrot, onion and dill, tomatoes and rice.  A chilli pepper gives it a bit of heat and interest.

Called lahanorizo

And a glass and of blood orange juice to ward off the bugs

    1. Probably not. We think it's freezing. Just stuff you live with all winter

    1. You must have a similar climate there up north. Hot summers and mild winters

  6. I bet it gets very cold there, like below 0 degrees right? Our winters are mild compared to yours but you can send some cold here if you want.

  7. Lahanorizo is a new one on me. The thought of cabbage and rice together did not inspire me, but I Googled it and now I am thinking of trying it as it actually sounds rather nice!

    1. I over did the rice and it was a mush. Less rice is better . Think stir fry and you'll have a better dish.

  8. That doesn't sound very inviting, but nor does stuffed vegs if you just read the ingredients. And we all know how good are stuffed vegs!

    1. The dish is a bit of a mush. Definitely not my favourite. Stuffed tomatoes have far more character, and good taste
