How nice of the council to put up umbrellas on the empty stretch of beach just below my daughters house. There are a couple of benches too. Almost a private beach.
I've told her she should put up a sign
'Bitouni Beach'
And maybe a 'trespassers will...'
That's the name of his house. He believes his grandfather's name was Trespassers William.
But of course you all knew that
The yachts are packed in along the quay now |
The honey stand and our favourite honey seller.
She has half a dozen different tasting honeys. It depends where her hives are placed, in amongst the orange blossom, beside a bank of wild thyme or in a field of flowers. She has lip gloss made from honey, a honey salve for cuts and burns and jars of honey comb.
Our farmers market is getting smaller and smaller. Besides the honey stand there are only another 4
It looks hot. Thank goodness - or the council - for the umbrellas.
ReplyDeleteThere was no shade on the beach so this is excellent. It's right across the road from their house
DeleteOoh... I would so love to be there right now 😎
ReplyDeleteStill not too hot. Good time to come
DeleteWhat a great price on watermelon. I prefer the seeded ones, I think they are always very juicy and sweet. I have been looking out for apricots, but I think it will be another week or two.
ReplyDeleteSo hot here ~ 35-38C every day for the last 4 days, and not going to change anytime soon.
You've got it hotter than us. Keep cool.... If you can
DeleteThe honey seller looks like a real honey! ☺ I think I would buy from her. Our local farmer's market has devolved into a craft seller's day. I don't go anymore.
ReplyDeleteHer honey is excellent. From their own hives very close by
DeleteIt’s so sad that those fresh food markets are becoming scarce. A few years ago, they were very “in” but the novelty has worn off. Only those of us who love fresh food, grown with love go to them.
ReplyDeleteI’d definitely love to sit by the sea, under an umbrella reading with a cook drink beside me.
Bliss
This market used to be very popular. There's loads of fruit and vege in season so I'm surprised there aren't more sellers. They're not cheap though. Except for the apricots
DeleteThe Bees are here at the moment for the Chestnut flowers. They can be a nuisance around the pool, but we give them water elsewhere. The resulting honey is dark, and not to everyone's taste, but I love it. We too have Apricots, but still a bit early for Melons.
ReplyDeleteReal honey is lovely and you know there's no added sugar....or anything else. Pure goodness
DeleteOh, the beach. Lovely. It's cold here just now, dropping below zero C most nights, so lovely to see the summer pics. That's a great initiative by the council.
ReplyDeleteOnly 4?! That's sad. I just loved laiki, one of the best parts of where we lived.
ReplyDeleteThat honey looks and sounds great.
