Hard to believe our backyard was once a summer paradise
The sight today
Old iron posts
Piles of broken paving stones
And yet..
There was even a small lawn.
And a lawn mower.
It lasted one summer. Maybe 2.
The lawn dried up
The lawn mower was sold
The old paving stones piled up
A load of old iron couldn't be resisted.
Ooh...it was so pretty!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely place to sit and swing. Even that swing has been virtually abandoned. Alas
DeleteIt's lived in and it's yours and it's homely. I like it.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is lived in! We have 2 other summer sitting areas depending on where the sun is. I just prefer it clean and clear. It has been cleaned of weeds and such so it's halfway ok
DeleteAncient ruins!!!
ReplyDeleteAncient Ruins!!
ReplyDeleteHa, yes, even in our garden 😁
DeleteA cheap oscillating sprinkler turned on morning or night for ten minutes would keep the lawn alive. I bought one last year for 4 Euros.
ReplyDeleteWe did have an automatic watering system. The dog chewed through the hose. It's just too dry here and there's always a water ban
DeleteGardens are always changing. As long as it works for you, it doesn’t matter how it looks.
ReplyDeleteThis area is K's. I look after the front of the house. I'm happy with that and try to ignore the backyard
DeleteTidying up loses its appeal when there's so much to do.
ReplyDeleteI think I would erect a wooden, greenery covered, pergola over that terrace. Surely it must too far too hot to sit there in Summer?
