Incy Wincy Spider
Climbing up the pole.
This awfully big spider has kept us company on the balcony the last few nights.
He patiently swings up and down, assembling his silken web
We have had either wind or rain the last few nights and his web has been destroyed by the elements
But there he is again, swinging across the balcony on his silken threads.
There are plenty of mosquitoes and jumpy-flying things for him to catch for his dinner.
I wonder how much he’d charge (if he could) to provide you with all this daily entertainment?
ReplyDeleteIs he as big as a huntsman (which I believe are found in the Mediterranean region) or some local type
I'll have to look up the huntsman. This seems to be the year of the spider. There are oversized ones all over the place. Lucky they I don't mind them
DeleteThat’s a big spider. I’m an arachnophobe so much so that I couldn’t even look at the picture for long
ReplyDeleteAngela
This year they're all the very the place, inside and out. You'd have to get a pest controller in to fumigate if you lived here.
DeleteNo ants though. Very strange
Ooooh.... noooo..... make it go away!
ReplyDeleteIt's up high in the sky, doesn't growl or sting, I think. Perfect pet lol
DeleteI would play cricket with that spider, because I loath them. The spider would lose, fatally. I know that’s brutal but a spider and web in the face on a previously dark and wet night has made me that way.
ReplyDeleteYikes, walking into a large spider and web in the dark would put me off them too. Don't think there are any poisonous spiders here. I hope. There are plenty around just now
DeleteI don´t mind spiders, anything but cockroaches! Webs are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis web sparkles in the moonlight. It's lovely.
DeleteIt is a productive spider, wonder if it gets annoyed having the web damaged?
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog, it is wonderful to be back in NZ, we are not near Maketu but you still get to enjoy the names of where we are .
So nice to hear the names of my childhood. Enjoy every minute
DeleteLooks like a little one, hope he catches all the mozzies, they are annoying.
ReplyDeleteHe's well fed. So many bugs and flying nuisances this summer
DeleteWe have had to assemble a ramshackle anti Mosquito net over our bedroom 'Velux' window. They had started to become a nuisance. Send your Spider!
ReplyDeleteI'll send his relatives. They seem to hiding in every corner
ReplyDeleteI love big spiders. I name them when we have 8 legged visitors here.
ReplyDeleteLol aren't your spiders maneaters?
Delete'The red back on the toilet seat....'
We did think we should give it a name. I'm out of ideas though
Love your spider a real beauty! X
ReplyDeleteHey you two!!! Lovely to see you. Your comment anyway. He wasn't around last night. Hope he hasn't been eaten by bigger prey
DeleteAbove comment Judy and Steve.
