The fields have lots of colour
Green first of all. My beloved green. Fresh and bright. The best of winter. The garden is full of clover and nasturtiums and little else.
These are photos from two weeks ago . Since then the weather has changed a little. I'm not allowed to go on my daily walk, just yet, so I wonder if these flowers are still alive. When my looker-after lets me out I shall see the difference.
The fields were full of these.
A type of fresia?
The Greeks call them 'freza'
Still clumps of mauve and pink crocus. They're at the end of their season
And the bougainvilleas were still in bloom, though not with their brilliant summer colour
How lovely. It will be interesting to see what you find on your first walk of freedom.
ReplyDeleteThe 1st walk of freedom, very soon I hope. It's 2 weeks now
DeleteThat's not Winter it looks like Spring on Poros. Super photos LA.
ReplyDeleteIt did look like spring but it's got a lot colder, and wetter
Deletebougainvilleas in winter. How strange!
ReplyDeleteDecember and the first half of January was so warm they just kept on keeping on . Bet the ground underneath these are a mass of brown blossoms now and the branches are bare
DeleteLots of beautiful flowers, we are still under a ton of snow!
ReplyDeleteOh boy. Can't imagine what your temperatures are. Freezing 😅
DeleteBeautiful spring so full of potential
ReplyDeleteI’m stating the, get ready for winter, stage of the year
Roll on spring . I don't mind winter but spring means sitting in the sun and warming my bones
DeleteI noticed some Snowdrops yesterday.
ReplyDeleteAll these winter/spring flowers are a welcome splash of colour, and perfume
DeleteYour first photo looks like a Jonquil/Narcissus (smallish Daffodil). Freesia have a different look altogether.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. I had googled freesia. Can't think why I thought it looked like that, except for the Greek name. Jonquil maybe
DeleteThat first walk is certainly going to be something for you to look forward to :) xx
ReplyDeleteThe same flowers bloom here too.
ReplyDeleteVery similar climate!
DeleteYes I think it's a type of freesia and they usually smell divine, you're going to be pleased once you get out and about.
ReplyDeleteHow odd that I didn't think of smelling them! I will if they're still around.
DeleteJonquil or freesia. One of them!
You will be looking forward to your first walk, lovely to see the early spring flowers. I think the flower is a jonquil, you can tell by the smell, they are strong!
