Boys and Boats

It's time to get the barnacles off the bottom of our fishing boats

Arion, the other family fishing caique, was scraped and freshly painted for the summer fishing season

Here she is sleek and shiny afloat in Neorion Bay

Ho hum, here she is back on land. Arion has sprung a leak which has to be bunged.

And here's 'Danae' about to have her bottom scraped

Inspection by Captain K

Scraped and ready for painting but the 'mastora' is ill so she'll wait and dry out a little before receiving her final paint job

Back at work. The first undercoat being applied.

Ready for launching

Hopefully there will be two more photos soon of two little boats bobbing again in the bay

    1. Lovely winter photos. It's nice in the summer but empty beaches and quiet days are most enjoyable

  4. Really nice boat. I kind of miss ours since we sold it but hopefully the new owner can use it more than we did.

    1. I think ours will have to be sold too. More repairs are being done than fishing. You had some great fishing trips. Bet you miss it

  6. Beautiful. It's a dream of many to have a small fishing boat on a Greek island.

    1. It used to be my husband's dream too. The boat I mean. He used to go out almost daily but he's enjoying eating fish now that others have caught

  7. We noticed you said boys and boats but will you be going out in either of them at any stage - just to supervise like? xxx Mr T

    1. I don't like small boats. Clamouring in and out are the worst parts but they're also noisy and smelly. I just like the fish

  8. Goodness, that looks like a lot of work! But the rewards…..yeah, I could enjoy a little trip on that beautiful bay……. Thanks for sharing!
