An inventive way to keep the flies off the fish. Tassels on rotating rope
But this is where we mostly buy our fish. Straight from the kaïki of cousin Tassos
If we disappear for quarter of an hour he'll gut and scale them too
An imaginative light shade at a harbour side taverna
Now that is fresh fish ... with zero food miles.
ReplyDeleteLocally caught and locally eaten, by me. Cleaned by someone else and cooked by someone else. The best
DeleteI've never had fish that fresh! I imagine it's amazing....
ReplyDeleteThe light fixture ~great reuse of those bottles! Very creative.
Straight from the boat into the pan. They were delicious and the cats crunched on the bones
DeleteIt’s kinda like our hats with the corks hanging off the brim lol
ReplyDeleteI was watching a show about Greece and they went to poros
I instantly thought of you
I’m really craving fresh fish now but our best shop to get it from is outside our ten kilometres so I have to wait
We do get on TV now and again. There was a Greek company here last month. They usually gloss over us though and go onto Hydra
DeleteBest way to get fresh fish! Amazing light fixture, and interesting way of keeping the flies away.
ReplyDeleteI'm always surprised when I find something different to photo. It's usually the same scenes over and over again
DeleteSome friends of ours from Barbados have been visiting their home here. They are now in Santorini, as the wife found it too cold here. I hope it's warmer in Santorini.
ReplyDeleteThe weather wasnt so good last week but it's hot now . For a few more days. Hope they found what they wanted
DeleteBefore i read the light fixture remark i was turning the tablet around to better view the upside down picture of bottles on a table! 🤪We got cod straight from the boat like that in Christiansø. I guess the only thing fresher is catch it yourself and cook it on the boat! Brilliant.
ReplyDeleteK used to go out fishing and we got it straight from his pail to the pan. He's lost interest recently
DeleteAnd that’s a novel way of keeping yourself safe - wear your mask on your chin and under your nose
ReplyDeleteLol like F I thought the wine bottle photo was upside down :)
Because it's an open air market I don't think he has to wear a mask but yup, if he's going to make an effort at least do it properly!
DeleteImagine waking up under that light shade after a heavy drinking session?
ReplyDeleteHope the bottles are all firmly attached.
DeleteWould be a bit of surprise to wake up with that over your head. An upside down world, enough to turn a person sober
I really like the upside down bottles and I haven't heard about the tassels keeping the flies away from the fish, hope it works.
ReplyDeleteNot many flies anywhere this year thank goodness.
DeleteVery prudent going for a short walk so your fish is gutted and scaled! Clever thinking there.
ReplyDeleteI can do it myself but don't want to!!! Very good service and no extra charge
DeleteLove the fly swat idea :)
ReplyDeletejust a PS on the mastika in the fruit mince - F used the powdered kind (and might have somewhat overdone it!)
ReplyDeleteI usually grind my own. But yes, a little goes a long way
