Extra.... Cold

The first snow fell on the tops of the mountains opposite Poros

A quick cold snap is passing through.  By Wednesday it will all be over

Those clouds are dumping snow
So exciting for us
It doesn't happen every year

The view from Elli's balcony

I remember when we used to live there. Those snow clouds will leave a good covering

The olive groves at the top of those hills.  The olive trees like a bit of snow. The crop should be a good one this year

What to do when it's freezing outside?

K cooked broad beans

And I made garlic sauce which always accompanies broad beans
The sauce is made from bread soaked in water, vinegar and plenty of garlic and olive oil

K eats it spread on bread
And he stinks of garlic for days
I made it good and strong

And while that was going on I kneaded a small loaf of bread too

Warm and cozy
All day long
With plenty of olive and oak wood

  1. I like the look of that sauce. I may try to make something similar.
Does K skin his broad beans or does he eat them in their jackets?

    1. In their jackets lol. The broad beans are fresh and not too big and tough. They need de stringing I think, like some beans. K cooks them, and eats them. He boils them with dill, onions, garlic, oregano, lemon juice and of course olive oil.

  3. I love your stove, and really regret I didn't install something similar (in France). Your garlic/bread sauce sounds as if it would be a good substitute for Humus.

    1. K was insistent from the beginning that we get a stove with an oven. He's even put a temperature gauge on it. Though I don't cook my bread there. The heat is not consistent.
You would have loved cooking there. Pity.

  4. Interesting that olive trees enjoy a bit of snow, personally I have enough already this winter! Gigi
