Confusion

Attention Roadworks
Snarl-ups on the harbour road.  The one way road has become two way because of roadworks along the harbour. This big articulated truck barely got through without a scratch.  Imagine what happens when he meets another big truck coming the other way

We all manoeuvered, backing up and parking on the pavement

Yes, he did get through

Further down in front of the coffee shops the smaller cars were once again climbing up on the pavement amongst the cafe tables to let the trucks through.
Something interesting for us to discuss and argue about while passing the time with a coffee

Traffic jam

This convoy, headed by the enevitable truck.........

Met these two

Easter is in four weeks.  The island overflows with cars for this most important holiday.  Wonder if they'll manage to sort out the trenches in the road  by then and have the quay back to solid cement instead of rocks and dirt.

If they don't it will chaos, not confusion

  4. Let’s hope it’s all done and dusted by Easter for safeties sake.
Here at home. Our governments in their wisdom will plan road works all in the same area all at the same time. So no matter which route you take it’s bedlam

  5. Certain places were not designed to take heavy traffic. Those trucks are simply too big.

    1. Ridiculous but there's just no other for them to go now once they're off the car ferry and they have to go back the same way.
Now our mountain road has been closed for very long awaited repairs and we have to do another 4ks to get a loaf of bread. We can't complain, it needed doing but bloody inconvenient

    1. You'd spend happy hours here watching all the trucks...delivery trucks, roadwork trucks, double trucks carrying food for the fish farms. Plenty of heavy traffic

  7. Ahhh yes, traffic issues, come High Tourist Season. Are never nice. Good luck, with them dealing with them, while they still can.

    1. June is the start of the tourist season but Easter here is at the end of April. At the rate they're working we'll all being treated for road rage soon.....and local elections are in may. You'd think they'd be working faster to get more votes

    1. Even mopeds have to take the long way round. Extremely annoying.

  9. I'm actually amazed trucks are allowed on those types of roads, wouldn't they crack the cobbles or concrete?

    1. Our roads are in very bad condition. I suppose thats what will happen next , all the roads will be ripped up again and re-sealed.
