Where to walk. No beach bar any more and all the other signs point to small churches in the area
The fertile plain called Fousa with its olives and grapes
Everyone is pruning olives just now and burning the smaller branches. The bigger ones are cut up to keep the houses warm
There are always a few goats around.
Another view on my walk
We have covid cases on the island now and the police are finally making checks. A motorcycle cop passed me on my walk today but didn't stop me
We have heard they are finally making checks around town and dishing out 300euro fines for not wearing masks or having the right permit. They are also issuing fines to people gathering with their friends outside the coffee shops. The cafes are open for take-aways.
I'm happy now to walk alone up here in the hills
Sorry to hear you have Covid on the Island. I enjoyed your walk.
ReplyDeleteWe were all in a happy little bubble. Not so happy any more 😟
DeleteGreat walk. It feels like we are in a world war and nobody knows when it will end.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is going on and on. I hope to hell the end is nigh
DeleteI hope they manage to contain the Covid and can restore some freedoms again if they can isolate the cases and stop it spreading around. Enjoy your walks - it looks peaceful.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be on the uptake again dammit and too close for comfort now. I shall keep walking
DeleteThe Never Ending Story xxx
ReplyDeleteYou know all about it. Living on an island doesn't mean you're isolated and safe
DeleteBest place to be in the countryside, until they stop that!

I'm glad we live out of town. Lots and F fresh air!
DeleteYour walk looks beautiful...I am ready for it to warm up enough to walk outside instead of on my treadmill!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Covid infections on the island....stay safe!
We are having wonderful warm days at the moment. Blue skies and sunshine. Keeps the spirits up
DeleteSorry to hear covid has returned, best to enjoy your solitary walks. You see some wonderful views.
ReplyDeleteI am a little tired of the same views everyday but there is some variation, left, right, up or down, forest or fields
DeleteYour walk is so very different to here in NZ! Such a different lifestyle where you are, I enjoy reading about your life.
ReplyDeleteJust as I enjoy so much reading of your life! It brings back great memories and enjoyment as I get to see the country and those beautiful beaches thru kiwi eyes
DeleteThanks for taking us on a walk. I love that there are always goats around. :) -Jenn
ReplyDeleteOften I can hear them but can't see them in the thick bushes. Amazing where they can penetrate
DeleteI'm sorry to hear that the virus is spreading again. When will this wretched thing leave us alone!!
ReplyDeleteAm I supposed to be pruning my Olive tree now?
It's pruning time here so I suppose it's pruning time over there . Our little olive tree in the yard is one year old. Still too small but old enough to have a few olives . Not that I can see any yet
DeleteThat's a big fine, do you have many cases there?
ReplyDeleteAthens is the hot bed and people are too-ing and fro-ing. We've had a handful of cases, as far as we know thru the grapevine
DeleteI really like to see your photos from the morning walks. The landscape here is a bit similar but unfortunately without the sea.
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy the sea now and again. Weekend walks I think will be at the beach for a change
DeleteOh, I am sorry to hear your island has covid cases. So many appear to be so lax about taking precautions. I shudder to think what would happen here if Covid got loose.
ReplyDeleteAre you becoming as agile as a mountain goat with all these walks, Linda? Do you stick to roads, or do you wander off along tracks and through fields? Stay safe - and send us some of your warm weather, please!
