Leandros

I didn't walk outside today. The icy storm from the north named Leandros, Leander to you, reached us in the early hours of the morning .

I lit the wood fire at 10am. The house was cold and damp. Now it's warm and cosy.

We have stacks of wood around the room and are all ready to hunker down for a few days. It's snowing in the northern suburbs of Athens.

This blanket is getting heavy. Ideal for working on in this weather

I made chicken soup and we had a few glasses of red wine. It's television and crochet time.

  2. I like the blankets vibrant colours. Keep warm and open another bottle of red wine.

  3. Crochet on your knee, the fire going, a glass of red sounds like a wonderful time! Having only seen Athens in the summer time I find it hard to imagine snow there!

    1. It seems strange I know. 40o temps in summer and snow in the winter

  4. The best part of winter is being able to sit in front of the fire it’s a warming drink and some pretty yarn
    Enjoy and stay toasty

    1. I really enjoy it but I never seem to be able to sit for long. I'm always getting to put a log on the fire, make coffee or have to grab a tissue or answer a phone

  5. I still have a 'granny squares' rug that my mother made. It always makes me feel very comfortable. Wet and miserable here.

    1. No, don't come in summer either. Far too hot. What a climate. Spring or autumn only!
