It's catching

Remember this from a few posts ago?  

Well, it happened again, in New Zealand.




Rethymnon, Crete

The owners of these cars did not remove them as they were asked to.  The tar crew came, the tar was hot, the tar went down, around cars and rubbish bins.


 Hamilton, NZ

Residents were asked to remove their cars from the street.  This one was on blocks and it remained where it was.  The contracters were on a tight schedule so once again they did the job, as best as they could.  

Both teams of tar-ers got the job done and both said they would come back and fix up the road later.  

One hopes they did just that.

    It would be so annoying. You send you the letter to let people know. But still some totally ignore it. I think they should foot the bill to have them come back bet next time they do as they are asked

      You're darn right, they should pay for the second visit...wouldn't happen in Greece but surprising the resident in nz wasn't billed!

    As funny as this is, they should indeed pay for road workers to come round a second time.
    Or the tar-ers could have just poured the tar all around and under the cars, sticking the tires into the tar. haha.

    Like the second suggestion lol that's what they deserved. Apparently in both cases the car owners were given plenty of warning

    At least they tar there. They just come and draw circles around the pot holes here. The paint fades before the road fixers come and then the fiasco happens again. Some one circles 10 pot holes. People drive over them, the paint lifts off of 9 of the pot holes in exactly the same place and the road fixers only fill one. It drives you nuts.

      That's worse than here!! Our hill road has been in bad condition and actually collapsing for years. Year after year we had promises they'd fix it and last summer they did!! It's like a two way super avenue with white lines on both sides and in the middle. I still marvel at it each time I drive over it....but, it did only reach as far as the mayor's house, after that the potholes are craters.

    I suppose the council actually own the road surface so they could tow the cars away. Aren't there some awkward folk?

    I guess in Greece it would cost too much to tow the cars but you'd think there would be at least some sort of fine.

    It's so crazy to see stuff like that. I'm not sure if it makes me feel better that it's a world-wide 'problem'!!!
