Word of the day

An interim post until the other one I posted an hour or so ago turns up from wherever the hell it went into cyber space.  And a good day to you.

Hornswoggle -
get the better of someone by cheating or deception.  Bamboozle.

Hands up anyone who has ever heard of this word?

When I read this I thought what a load of codswallop but turns out it really is a word in the english language.

Google says so and so does Websters Dictionary.

  2. Hornswoggle - this is tweaking a memory from a line in a movie - can't quite place it. But yes, bamboozle, scam, rip off ... Hope you find what you are looking for in cyber space. -Jenn

    2. Aa don't know if my reply sounded quite polite! Meant that I was amazed that anyone could have heard this peculiar word used. As it happens there is someone else as well. I guess it is a word which if heard is never forgotten

What a lovely country you live in, my cousin has a place there, and has just retired to that lovely part of the world.
