Neighbours sit out in the evening in their private, back street, square to gossip the evening away under the bougainvillia
Nadia's Place
There are curious little places to stay all around these backstreets
Wonderful for first time visitors who want a true taste of greek living
Love to all????
No red lantern hanging over the door
The police have parking problems in these narrow back streets

Your photos and insights are always very interesting
ReplyDeleteEveryday stuff but so different from other cultures and countries
DeleteEnjoyed the walk about & photos of the neighborhood streets with your commentary. DL
ReplyDeleteA simple post . Glad you liked it
DeleteI loved seeing a little part of your world! Is it bad that the police steps are dirty and need a scrub? Ha ha. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteSteps are usually whitewashed at Easter and spruced up by the council. That was months ago of course but it looks as though these haven't been whitewashed for years
DeleteI'm surprised any drivers attempt to travel such narrow roads. The cars get bigger all the time.
ReplyDeleteSmall trucks go up there too. They have to be careful their loads don't hit the lower balconies. In days of yore I drove up there many times. You just have to drive carefully. Very carefully
DeleteThat bougainvillea is stunning. I’ve tried to grow them here. And they just didn’t. It’s too cold in the winter
ReplyDeleteWhen I visited the family in Samos I loved wandering around all the little streets and alleyways. I found lots of interesting places and there was usually someone sitting outside for me to say a kalimera too
those streets were never designed for cars - let alone parking! Beautiful bougainvillea (neon)
