Pigs Can Swim dammit
There's a huge wild boar problem across on the mainland. They're breaking down fences, destroying olive trees, digging up gardens and threatening the human population.
There are none of these pigs on the island. Yet.
This hog was photographed midway between the mainland and the island
The longest distance between island and mainland is only 400 metres, the shortest crossing is half of that
We don't want wild boars, hogs or anything of its kind over here
Unfortunately I couldn't find out what happened to this hog. I hope the photographer turned him back
The worst we've got are woozles which eat wires in the cars engine. And darn cats

They can only swim, but they're very good swimmers. Heaven knows where this one ended up
DeleteWe have plenty of Wild Boar in France, but they don't do too much damage. They dig holes in the Chestnut woods, and attempt to get into the Maize fields, but there are simple ways of dealing with them; one of which is to shoot them. Delicious meat!
ReplyDeleteWe have some widl boar in our freezer. They're great sport for the hunters but just too many of them now
DeleteThere are cities here that wild boars have literally taken over, roaming the streets and courtyards. Luckily, they haven't come here yet.

Nasty little woozles. They probably need hanging for a week to 'ripen'..... and then you bury them in the garden. Only I'd skip the hanging and just dig a deep hole
