Today

We were cleaning up the big back balcony so the family can sit outside on Monday when we get together to celebrate Lent.  The day started off sunny and warm and now it's cold and damp.      Hoping for a bit more sunshine on Monday.

I walked on the top road today and took a photo of our neighbourhood.  I'd like to tell you which roof is ours but its hard to find.  It's one of those roofs back towards the sea.

A big bowl of greens called vrouva waiting to be washed and boiled

Lunch
Stewed peas and potatoes with a piece of feta cheese

  1. That's a healthy looking lunch. Looks tastier than my tuna on sourdough bread!

    1. It is good for walking. Not many cars . There are also many tracks in amongst the olive trees.

  5. That looks like a long walk.

"So the family can get together..." Geeee, look at that! Like normal people!

Here, our *Glorious Leader* says, if we are all good little *Sheeple,* a few might be able to celebrate together, on 4th of July, our INDEPENDENCE DAY!

    1. 4th July , Jeepers creepers, that's a long way off. We are only supposed to be with close family. You can't get much closer than our family. Can't keep away from them on this island 😂😂

    1. I was just looking at a video of 2 years ago on Kathara Deftera. Looks very normal. Can't remember for the life of me what we did last year. It was 3 days before first lockdown

  8. Feta is often on our lunch menu now. Soups have been replaced by 'Greek Salads'.

    1. Thanks goodness we are still eating 'greek' lettuce and cabbage salads. Still a while off before we have months and months of the traditional salad. But we are still on soups here

  9. I'm trying to guess what they are, those green leaves waiting to be cooked, are these beet leaves?

    1. They are a plant found outside in the fields. They grow around the olive trees I think. They eat the green leaves and the yellow flowers

  10. Enjoy your Clean Monday. Our weather forecast suggests rain here which is not welcome as we've finally got off our arses and broken out the bikes to try and get some variety in our days. Yesterday the meat market near the port was was jammers. People must have been getting in their last Sunday meat-fest for a while.

    1. The fish market will be full of buyers tomorrow all hoping for last minute bargains. Today everyone is eating meat for the last time and it should be a huge festival, last day of carnival.
