Monday Market

 Monday's we have a very small farmers market at the other end of town.


Just three stalls.
Here is Ks cousin getting blustered in a strong south (warm) wind. He has oranges and lemons, greens and a huge squash which we bought


The other two stalls. Lots of greens, cabbage, cauliflower and a few tomatoes


A giant of a squash
All for three euros
Helps to have a cousin at the market. He threw in a kilo of lemons and some oranges as well

    That is one big squash.
    I can't imagine freshly picked oranges and lemons in January!

      Not much I can say to that!!
      Although now I think about it I have read about lemon trees in pots and having to bring them inside in the winter.
      I something new forget that not everyone lives in Greece 😅😅

      Fresh tomatoes are hard to find now but our neighbour is still picking the last of his. Then it will be from the hot houses opposite. Nothing wrong with those

    Looks about the same size as our local Saturday market, but no home-grown Oranges and Lemons here.

    Even our markets here in the city are very stripped out these days - fewer than half the stalls we enjoyed in healthy times. The produce is still good though.

      This Monday market only has a few stalls because its at the wrong end of town but as you say the produce is still good. In healthy times there might be one more, in mid summer, two

      Very cheap! And he always gives us something extra. I dont know how he feeds his family.

    That is a big squash! Good to hear the family have asked for some. The cousin is a generous man.
