Lazarus

Saturday 20th April
Greek Orthodox church
The Day of Lazarus

The day before Palm Sunday when Christ raised Lazarus from the dead.

Kids are on holiday since Friday.   The school children went to  church on Friday morning and most of them took communion.  The older ones then took off to enjoy their 2 weeks of freedom. The younger kids had to return to finish their day's lesson.

Two years ago the younger girls made paper Lazarus dolls.  They're a bit too old for that now.

  2. Here, too, the children are on Passover vacation, two and a half weeks, part of the time I have to look for creative solutions for the free days.

    1. We dye red eggs on Holy Thursday, also blue and green and yellow and sparlky. That has become s bit commercialised but not all that much chocolate around. The easter eggs here are big hollow things, not very exciting

  6. My grandsons return to London today, and back to school on Tuesday. They were blessed with perfect weather until last night; we were eating outdoors (under cover) and it suddenly poured for about 10 mins.
