Green My Garden Now

Hi Dave, here's my May garden.  I'll post new photos in a month so you can see the difference.  Watering every other day keeps the garden green just now but soon it will be twice a day

 'According to a British study a mere 5 minutes of exercise in a green space can boost well being and mental health'.  

My part of the garden, the rubbish free part.  Some tomato and pepper plants, loads of nasturiums, and a pansy or two.  Planted under the grapevine and the lemon tree so they will have shade in July and August.





Nasturiums and over in the corner a few aloe vera plants which keep on having babies.  At least one plant is fertile



Front entrance, red geraniums and a purple hydrangea (yeh)
Oh and a little table made out of an old wooden stool and a slab of broken marble






Grape vine around the back verandah.  Green now but in a few months I'll be sweeping up brown leaves every day and muttering under my breath

    I like this idea of "garden posts" that Dave on Northsider has set off. It is wonderful to see a garden in Greece, Norfolk, Vienna, Ireland...
    Your back verandah is certainly a very cool area in summer! Your flowers are beautiful.

      The flowers are beautiful just now but it is a battle to keep them flourishing in the hot summer sun. I love sitting and looking at the greenery and colour

    Your tomatoes are enviably advanced...just watch out for that giant snail, he's about to start on your geraniums.

      Those tomato plants actually have tomatoes forming. I'm hoping for a good crop this year.
      That giant snail is from Bulgaria and he had better behave himself!!!

    Your nasturtiums look nice and give a pastel shade of colour in the greenery. Plenty of lived-in feel in your garden Linda. Thanks for sharing.

      'lived in' is right. Ian not an avid gardener and I like about f wildness. Love the colour of the nasturtiums. Hope they last a while longer. At least they come back every winter by themselves

      About the same climate! I prefer it a bit wild, not flowers all in a row.

      Nasturtiums grow wild here but usually disappear by this time of the year. I'm watering them daily hoping they'll give their beautiful show a little longer

    Thanks Linda for sharing your garden with us. I think outside areas are so beautiful and important for us to drink, garden and enjoy. Love the geraniums and hydrangeas especially!

    It looks so lush. I love being in th garden. But as the summer gets hotter here I can’t handle the heat and I retreat back inside
    This last summer it got so hot it literally burnt my plants. I even went out a few times during the day to water them but they just burnt to a crisp
    There is always next year lol

      Hope your winter s not too extreme. We have very high temps but not enough to burn plants.....yet!!

    Hi, the flower arrangements look good. It must be incredibly hot to ruin them. I do feel sorry for you.

      It can get up to 45o in a heat wave. We will probably have very little rain now till September or october
