Koulourakia baking time.
Got all the gang together plus two of their friends and made about a hundred easter cookies. Some for us and some for them and some for Vaso who has broken her arm and can't (mustn't) make easter cookies this year because her sister just died and some for my s-in-law and so on
I gave them the recipe and they just got on with it, weighing out all the ingredients, using the big heavy mixer, squeezing and zesting the oranges, and so on
If you're the shortest in the family then you climb up on the bench
The three boys dug the garden and I forgot to get a photo of them hard at work. They carried tables, shifted pot plants, weeded the cactus and so ..... back to the computer
Easter koulourakia in the making
I was going to make the boys do this but the girls insisted they wanted to. Shoes off, water on and the fun begins. They cleaned the tiles and then six small rugs. The rugs were scrubbed and hung over the railings to dry
Vaso called us to come and receive some bounty. Lettuces, spring onions and dill fresh from her garden. These are all essential in the next few days for preparing the easter feast.
And that was Holy Tuesday.
One hundred edible works of art, made for sharing, plus you got some hard work out of the boys. Your home comes across as one of the happiest I have ever seen, I love these little glimpses.
ReplyDeleteThe kids all seemed to enjoy their day. We had fried squid and chips for lunch with some horrid green fizzy stuff which they loved. They basically do what they want, don't usually drink and eat rubbish though. At least the squid was fresh.
DeleteWish we had salad crops ready at this time of year!
ReplyDeleteI had not realised lettuce was a summer crop elsewhere. Our lettuce season is over and now I'm planting tomatoes
DeleteWhere is home now, here or there? Ilove reading about other peoples lives and yours certainly is different! Thanks for commenting
ReplyDeleteIt looks quite warm there.
ReplyDeleteWonderful warm sunny days
