Fattening the Fowl

*'Christmas is Coming and the goose is getting fat'

I know it's 2 months away but  this year we already feel a bit of Christmas cheer

We've had our family Secret Santa draw and I think I've got my secret present sussed.  It was done with an online app this year as all the grandchildren are away in Athens.  Everyone but K and I sailed through the whole procedure.  It took me a whole load of head scratching, altering passwords, setting up accounts and all the usual online difficulties to get the app up and working.  Finally got Nana and Grandad in the draw.

I made it easy for the Secret Santa who drew my name. I had a list of gift ideas ready and gave it to my daughters to pass on.....if asked.  It's not so 'Secret'. Some people are just down-right difficult to buy for.  I, for one, need 'hints'.

K has turned on the lights of all our Greek Christmas 'sea vessels'

They're all on timers and brighten up our lives from 7pm till 2am

*Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat
Please put a penny in the Old Man's hat
If you haven't got a penny a ha'penny will do
If you haven't got a ha'penny a farthing will do
If you haven't got a farthing 'God Bless you'

  1. Christmas??? In October???
We still have Hop-tu-Naa (or Halloween to some) then Guy Fawkes first. Mind you, our shops have all of that at once on display right now 🫤

  2. I know, I know. It's sacrilege. I usually refuse to think about Xmas till after the beginning of December. I'm not getting out the decorations and I'm not writing cards. But, I do love these brightly lit boats around the living room. And I might, might, make mince meat and put it in the freezer. Or even a Xmas cake

  3. It looks like a nice warm glow to the room to have the Christmas vessels lit up. I can see why K lit them early. I saw some Christmas lights in my garage the other day and think I will bring them in this year. Last year I just had the crib. This year it will be lights too.

    1. By Christmas we will have lights on around the perimeter too. I enjoy the way they twinkle in the dark. I'm not so enthusiastic about the tree. All I'd like would be a few other minimal clothes and I like gnomes

  4. I have already bought several Christmas presents, and am now scratching my head over those I haven't yet bought for! Very difficult.

    1. I buy things during the year and stash them away and then fret that they're not enough. Or I forget what I've bought. I only buy one present for a family member through the secret santa draw but all the grandkids still have Xmas stockings. Even though they're far too old.

  5. Christmas is all around here. It’s all in the shops. It’s beginning to get me all excited.
I love the second boat with the oars.
I might just light up my little boat too. Just to kick things off
